Hi Lykkers! Some days I want makeup that feels barely there, just enough to look fresh. Other days I want a little more color that still doesn’t feel heavy. Lip tints and lip mousses sit perfectly in that middle ground for me—they’re easy, quick, and somehow always make me look more awake than I actually am.
Lately, I’ve been rotating between two lip products that give completely different vibes, even though both sit comfortably in the “easy everyday lip” category.
1. Rose All Day Lip Mousse Records Shade “Rose Remix” - $8
This one feels like a soft filter in real life. The mousse texture blends in smoothly, giving that blurred, diffused look that doesn’t feel heavy or overly defined. “Rose Remix” leans into a muted rosy tone that doesn’t scream for attention but still makes a visible difference. It’s the kind of shade that quietly enhances my natural lip color instead of covering it up.
I like using this when I want my look to stay calm and understated—nothing too sharp, nothing too bold, just an easy, soft finish that fits almost anything I wear.
2. ESQA x Barbie Like A Boss Lip Velvet – Shade “Strawberry Shortcake” - $14
This one brings a completely different energy. The moment I apply it, the whole look feels brighter and a bit more playful. The velvet texture gives better color payoff compared to a mousse, and “Strawberry Shortcake” shows up as a fresh pink-red that instantly makes the face look more awake. It has that cheerful, slightly bold feeling without being overwhelming.
I usually reach for this when I want a bit more personality in my makeup—days when I’m going out or just feel like adding a pop of color that stands out a little more.
These two lip products remind me that makeup doesn’t always need to stay in one lane. Some days I lean into softness with Rose Remix, and other days I switch to the brighter Strawberry Shortcake when I want something more expressive. I don’t really think of lip tints as just “beauty products” anymore—they’re more like small mood switches I can carry in my bag.
